Ten Things I’m Thankful For – 15

So this past two week a fair few things have happened, so let’s get down to business.

The start of April brought us the A – Z writing challenge, so I would like to thank the creators for this wonderful event. I’ve come across so many different styles of blogging and its amazing.
I’m finally up seeing my family. Woop woop. So I’m thankful for my family being there for me and me being able to spend time away from Brighton.
Some arsehole decided to not only rip off one of my old posts, make a transphobic piss take from it, they linked my post in their shitty thing. Plus side, free advertising. My blog blew up with views. So I thanked him for doing what he did.

It was also transgender day of visibility. Which meant that for one day, non queers apparently go on about how they love transgender people and think its all ok to not even bother the rest of the 365 days of the year. I thank everyone who is honestly respectful to the trans/non binary community and we need more allies that give a shit as opposed to people who give us lip service.
Kai took me to the sea life centre on Good Friday and it was really cool. I thank the sea life centre for giving us the backstage tour and being fucking awesome. Also I thank Kai for just being amazing.

I haven’t had as much time as I have wanted to with Steph recently and I hate that. I am thankful that they are so understanding that we are both really busy at the moment.
I am now the chair of FTMB, which is both terrifying and rewarding at the sane time. I thank everyone who has been around and just been amazing.
I got my hair done at a barbers / hair salon for the first time in years. I was called He the whole time, so that’s made me really happy.
I also took a really fun picture and got people no “Name my album” which ended up being really funny. So I’m thankful for humour.

I think that’s it! Its been a pretty busy couple of weeks, I’m surprised that I managed to squeeze this post in if I’m honest.

Ten things I’m thankful for 7 – Hate crime edition

Saturday marks the international day of hope and remembrance. So this weekend I’m filling this space up to list ten statistics about hate crimes and the hope and remembrance vigil , because I am thankful that I do not suffer like other people do out there

1) The first H&R vigil was on the 30th October 2009, it was launched in London.

2) It was launched after the death of Ian Baynham after he was beaten and homophobically abused in Trafalgar square

3) Police recorded 52,528 hate crimes in 2014-15, up from 44,471 in 2013-14

4)with that statistic, more than 80% were racially motivated.

5) Home Office records say the “likely factors” of the increase included improved recording of crime, a greater awareness of hate crime and an improved willingness of victims to come forward. Though with that being said there are 1000s of people not wanting to go to the police because of fears of how they are treated or whether its even recorded. Researchers believe that only around 43 per cent of offences are reported to police.

6) Incidents against disabled people have risen up by 12.5%

7) The majority of hate crime victims are male, and are aged between 20 and 49. Meanwhile, most offenders are male and aged between 20 and 29, around 45 per cent of who are white and British.

8) Hate crimes targeting the LGBT community have risen to as many as 100 cases in a month, with a monthly increase of 21.5 % since March 2014.

9) Hate crime aimed at transgender people has risen from 58 to 108 cases since 2014. This is  a recorded yearly rate from the Metropolitan Police, but other research indicates that it’s much higher, but transgender people have said that they find it hard to either speak to police or even when crimes are recorded, they are often not taken seriously or not even logged as a hate crime.

10) This month a hate crime app was launched so people can record what happen without having to talk to the police, by using a third party system. It has a link to victim support so the victim can receive support.

Ten things I’m thankful for 5 – holiday edition

Well its been a pretty eventful week this week, if you have kept up with my posts, but if not have no fear, I will catch you up now with my 10 things I’m thankful for.

1. Blogging awards. Eeeeeep I got one this week and I’m so thankful to the wonderful person who nominated me for it. I really appreciate it.
2. Being with the family. Honestly I have needed the fucking space to sit and chill without massive drama, and I am seriously thankful for that.
3. Craft equipment. I shall post up some of my greetings cards I have made the past couple of weeks. I have found making them quite therapeutic.
4. Scotland. Its actually pretty amazing and there are some fantastic views almost everywhere you go.

5.  My friends. I love them all so much, and they have been amazing to me the past few weeks.
6. Animals. Again, its been wonderful to spend time getting cuddles from the dog, playing with the owls and seeing the horses.
7. The people who have been Sharing, commenting and liking my posts. Thank you for doing that, I appreciate all the support.
8. My beautiful wonderful partners. They are just amazing ❤
9. Having a phone with a camera. I get to take pictures, where ever I am. And I think that's pretty awesome.

10 things I’m thankful for

This is the first post in the weekend series of Ten things I’m Thankful of. If you take part in this, please let us know. I would love to see your things that you are thankful of.

1. Hormones (the injectable kind). Its nearly 2 years since I have started taking T, and honestly the physical changes that it has caused has helped me so much
2. Family – Recently things have been really shitty for myself and the rest of the Austen clan. But we are still always around for each other, regardless of distance. I appreciate every one of the family, and I am so grateful for everything they have done for me.
3.  FTMB committee members – I ❤ you guys so fucking much. Really, you have been so supportive the past few months and I really am so happy for that
4. Vince and Steph- You have made Kai happy, and that makes me happy. And Steph you have been amazing with me and I get that I  frustrating right now, but I don't intend to be
5. Kai – as frustrating as you are, you have been such a rock and I love you so much ❤
6. The Xbox 360 – you have distracted me from my feelings with diablo, and that really helps right now
7. Admin in Facebook groups – you have put up with me moaning for the past few months and you have listened to me (especially thank you to P0j0, you have felt with a huge chunk of it, and I hope your meet-up goes amazingly)
8. The internet – you have distracted me from thoughts also, and that's been so helpful.
9. My cats – you have been keeping me in a routine that I have needed to keep to, and you give me great cat cuddles
10. My friends. Both in real life and online, I love all you guys so much
