Today (Wednesday) I decided to go on the pier with Kai because I hadn’t spent any quality time with him since he got the care job. Which I can tell you, has totally sucked. His schedule and then me getting ill hasn’t helped situations. So today we decided on a whim to go out after he had the doctors, and go for dinner.
Our plan of dinner ended up being on a two hour hiatus however because the place we wanted to eat at (Day’s) wasn’t open till 5:30pm so we had a couple of hours to kill.
Honestly we couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was so bright and sunny, though it was quite breezy so you could tell that autumn had set in. It was also quite busy for late October, but it was also the half term holidays though, so that might explain that. I ended up getting some amazing photos of the day, that you can see here and also on my Instagram. My name is @gothicchoice on there, or just click the link.
We ended up going on the 2p machines and got lots of tickets. I know that gambling is a problem for a lot of people, but I know what my limits are, and will not go past them when it comes to money. We won a minion mug, a giant apple lolly, a bouncy ball and a pencil, which to be fair was a pretty good turn out.
We ended up playing on a few other of the machines also, such as the deal or no deal game and I also tried to knock down some scary ass clowns, but we found out that the clowns were weighted and were not going to be knocked down, which was infuriating. We also lost 30p because the batman machine wasn’t working, and I lost all sense of pride once again when we used the punching machine, and YET AGAIN KAI BEAT ME ON POWER. I’m certainly not macho, but one day I will beat him on the punch bag.
We decided not to take up the piers offer on unlimited rides for £15. One, because of the time. We felt like we would have needed more than 2 hours to play on the rides and two, Kai doesn’t like the idea of some of the rides, and has a fear of falling off the pier or the wood rotting under his feet. Which it totally understandable. We will however eventually go on the rides when he feels ready to do it.
Over all it was a beautiful afternoon, which ended for me with a great dinner (Which is my next post) and Kai ended the evening by going swimming as well as dinner at Day’s. It has been great to finally get out the house and spend sometime in the fresh air whilst doing fun activities. Its done me the world of good.
